The level of athletes competing at the Europa Ballte of Champion 2010 (Dallas, Texas) was quite high, the best on the planet were there trying to snitch a place for the Big O, as this was the last pro show. Unfortunately I didn't place very well, but it was a great experience. I talked with Shawn Ray for quite a while, Shawn being one of the pionners in American Bodybuilding. He told me to eat, eat and eat some more. "Stay hungry man, stay hungry". I liked his philosophy.
And he was spot on. In order for me to be noticed at those high levels, I should have gotten onstage bigger and heavier. On the day of the show, I was 295 pounds. Ideally, I should have been 300, or even 310 pounds, sliced and diced. I still have work to do! I'm still motivated and I'm not throwing the towel, I will one day qualify for that ultimate competition that is the Olympia.
I want to thank my dad who helps me tremendously, as well as my friends in my home country, namely Mike FLOHR, Igo LEONTIEFF and many more. Also, all my friends at the Mega Gym in Quebec. And of course, my wife who supports me during those grueling diets.
Thanks to you all!
Oscar

While I was on a vacation
to French Polynesia, in Thaiti, I made a guest appearance at a
weight of 140 Kg at the South Pacific Championships 2009 by request
of the people attending the show. Many Island in the Pacific were
represented, namely New Caledonia, Samoa, Tonga, Papoua New Guinea,
Thaiti, etc. I had the great opportunity to meet many geat athletes
with tremendous potential, many fans and many friends who were
numerous to attend.
The team from Samoa unfortunately
had to deal with a tsunami but they proved to be very courageous
and dedicated nonetheless.
The team from New Caledonia has been
especially nice to me, and I was amazed at their devotion and passion
for the sport. I hope to be one of the "to go to" guy
for the Pacific Games in 2011. Many thanks to Patrick Mounier.
I also wish to give praise to Anne
Marie VONGUE épse MOUX, a 52 years old fitness teacher, mother
of 4 and also a grandmother, who decided for the first time to take
a shot at Figure competition. She has followed my advice over the
last year and became champion of Polynesia for 2009, runner up for
the 2009 South Pacific Games and champion in the couples category
at the South Pacific Games in 2009. She was the only one to have
a flawless condition. Congratulation Anne-Marie!
I want to thank all those who
have supported and helped me over the various preps for shows in
2009, namely my father, my mother, my friends, TAMARII PUNARUU,
Christian POTHIER and his office, the Mayor and community council
of the Punaauia community, as well as the minister of Youth and
Sports.

My season ends with a 9th place at the Atlantic City Men's
Pro. I must admit that the level was very high since many
athletes are having their first try for the Olympia. Still,
we're happy with the results, after 4 months of prep with
guru Chris Aceto.
I have gained 15 pounds of muscle compared to my last
shows, the Australian Grand Prix and the Europa Orlando
Show. I intend to make at least another prep with him. Everything
seemed so easy for me since all I had to do was to follow
his instructions to a T.
I have also had invaluable help from my wife Cynthia, which
allowed me to finish this prep successfully. She has been
very easy on me during this whole time, which is not always
easy when following such a strict regiment.
She also specialised herself in how to apply Tan so that
everything showed as good as possible unde the stage lights.
Thank You
All. Mauruuru maitai.

The week following the competition, I took
a flight for Toronto in order to do a photo and video shoot
for the company Iovate Health Science, which manages many supplement
brands such as Muscle Tech, Six Star Muscle (which I represent),
Muscle Asylum Project (represented by Paco Bautisa), Cytodine,
etc.
It was a very cool experience as far as I am
concerned, since it was the very first time I was being photographed
by pro photographers. It was a lot of fun. It required a lot of
attention and energy.
Long days spent doing muscle contractions that had
to be held for 10 seconds or more when the pics were being shot.
I also happened to meet a few of the company leaders for the first
time.
I took advantage of breaks to relax a
bit in order to recharge my batteries for next shooting session
so that the pics would be as good as could be for the mags.
Every detail counts, lights, sometimes weird poses
but necessary in order to get the most out of the picture, as well
as my facial expressions that had to be as freakish as possible.
I really had no clue that this is how it was done. I have learned
something new yet again.
Here I pose with Paco Bautista who represents
Muscle Asylum Project. He took 6th place at the Europa show.
I can tell you that he's like an ice block, very impressive
genetics but also very easy going personality. The pics were
shot by Vasko Photography, of www.thephoto.ca, whom I thank
very much.
Hope
to see you in the mags!

Back from the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne with a
6th place, 2 steps from qualifying for the Mr Olympia show,
I am slowly getting back to my good ol' self. I must admit
that I am a little disappointed with my placing but I am satisfied
with the package I brought to the stage. It's really not easy
to make a name for yourself in this close knit community.
But this motivates me even more to keep going for it and facing
all those obstacles. Thanks to my family, my friends, my fans
who encourage me, I am sure that one day I will qualify for
this presitgious Big O Show.
Knowing that Christian Pothier, President
of the Polynesian Bodybuilding Federation, was there has helped
me quite a bit. His expertise in bodybuilding, his moral and
technical support has helped me put the finishing touch to
my prep. I really wanted to thank him for his involvment in
this show. I also thank all those who support me to treach
the top, even those who are far away.
I had the opportunity to rub shoulders with one of the
best name in the sport, Tony Freeman, who tried to impress
me by posing in front of the mirror in my prep room. He was
telling me about his last show, the Arnold Classic 2009, saying
that he was in a better condition now. "Look" he
said, "I'm full."
Unfortunately, I was in no way comparable that day.
Still, it was a great pleasure for me to be with him during this
competition.

This is my first appearance at the Mr Olympia show for Six
Star Muscle, my new sponsor, from September 25th to September
28th, along with Lionel Brown and Leo Ingram. It was a really
great week-end, people came to see the biggest and best developped
athletes in the world. Those people are very easygoing and
nice. I never, ever would hav imagined being part of this
very closely-knit community one day.
Fans came from everywhere in the world to see their idols.
I was lucky enough to see people from my homeland, Tahiti,
as well as my new home now, Quebec, in Canada.

Dave Mitchell wins the overall title at the Provincial
Show in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (Quebec) on July 5th 2008.
He is my training partner. Only 24 years old, 226 pounds,
he beats all his opponents with his perfect condition. Vincent
Comtois (right) manages his nutrition and supplementation
plan.
Here is the Shock Team from Nitro Gym, everyone from this
hardcore gym was there of course to witness the victory
of their 2 heavyweights, Antoine Vaillant, twice Canadian
Junior Champion, and Dave Mitchell who won the Provincial
Overall. Congratulations to all!
I have met a woman bodybuilder, Julie Bourassa. She will
take part in the National Championships in August 2008.
Keep it up Julie!
Our 2 Figure athletes, Mélanie
and Maggi, prepared by Vincent Comtois, also did very
well. Check out their shape! Years of training to reach
that level of development. Bravo girls, keep it up!
Sincerely
Oscar Tua Dexter

My last guest posing done
at 325lbs at St-Jean-sur-Richelieu at the Québec
de l’Ouest show on June 29th 2008, which was the
highlight of the evening. Simon Voyer was also part of
the whole thing. He was disguised as a devil. The audience
really liked our little act. The acting and bodypaint
was directed by Eric Lesieur who did a great job and whom
I wish to thank enormously. Many thanks also to Jocelyn
Cadieux and Daniel Fontaine for allowing me to experience
this. It is now time for me to gain some weight back for
my future competitions. I wish to thank you all who follow
my career, closely or not, and who can appreciate the
hard work we athletes do to get in such a great shape.
Good vibes to those who, like me, decide to live the lifestyle,
which is no easy task.
Sincerely

On June 7th 2008, in Gatineau-Quebec, I guest posed at
a regional show promoted by André Maillé,
Canadian champion and pro bodybuilder of yesterday. The
audience was impressed by my presence onstage. Many people
came to see me to have signed pictures as well as for training
info.
I weighted 325 pounds on a 6 feet
2 frame. I was posing to the music score of the movie “300”.
I want to thank Francis Moniz, manager of the stand for the
day, as well as his whole family for the support they give me
in pursuing my career. I don’t know what I would have
done without them.
We also had the luck to meet Dominic
Filiou, actually the strongest man in the province of Quebec,
who will be going to the World Championships in Russia this
month.
The next weekend, I guest posed at
the Quebec de l’Est show, only this time I wasn’t
supposed to, so I had to purchase a posing trunk mere hours
before going onstage! It is Daniel Bérubé, promoter
of the show, who asked me to do this guest posing, for which
I thank him personally since it was yet another occasion for
me to put my face up there. I weighted then 320lbs.
My next guest pose is at the
Quebec de l’Ouest show, with Simon Voyer, pro bodybuilder.
Stay tuned for a heck of a surprise!
Sincerely, Tua

Meeting with Bruna Degage, director of the Polynesian Society
for Touristic Development for a sponsoring package. I plan
an appearance at the Vaima Center in Papeete as I get back
to Canada in September 2008. Let’s thus meet again for
this great event!
Courtesy visit at Minister Tauhiti Nena’s place to
discuss upcoming international competitions that I’ll
participate in. We have also talked about bursaries to be
given to high level athletes as well as the pro show that
will be organized by the country next year in March 2009,
after New Zealand. He made it clear that he was behind me
in this project. We wish to thank him for this warm welcome.
Jean Paul TUAIVA, of JP DONUTS, a big fan of the discipline
of bodybuilding, helps me since my very first steps on the
pro circuit. I appreciate his kindness, simplicity and support.
We will be there for the grand opening of his great Donuts
and Beard papa. Thanks to him and his family who always welcome
me as one of them.
Thanks to Remy Lelay, I have met Bruno Charlon who was hiding
in the most beautiful island of French Polynesia : Moorea
island. Mr. Charlon is, hear this out, multiple times Champion
of France and second in ther European Championships. He was
very pleased to meet with me. He’s a master with ice
cream and such stuff, I can tell you that he makes delicious
sorbets. I thank him and his wife for their hospitality at
their place. It was an honor for me. Thank you Bruno, and
keep on training! You’re an inspiration to all of us!

Avril 5th 2008
Back from Australia and New Zealand with pretty
good results and good media coverage. I ended up 10th at the Melbourne
Grand Prix and 9th in New Zealand, thanks to my good preparation.
This time, I was 131 Kg onstage, which is not that
bad for a second and third pro show. It turns out I was the most
massive if we take into account online reports on various bodybuilding
websites. The top 5 was filled with, of course, very big names
in the pro ranks, guys like Dexter Jackson, Tony Freeman, Melvin
Anthony, Troy Alves and Moe El Moussawi, who was on the podium
at the IFBB Ironman Pro in 2008. Those travels were beneficial
for me since I placed 2 ranks higher in New Zealand and my name
has started to circulate among athletes and judges.
During the week between the Australia and New Zealand
show, I have met many great athletes who are very humble, very
simple and very sociable. They found that I had great potential,
which they won’t forget anytime soon, as well as great charisma.
I was lucky to train with them at the Doherty’s Gym in Melbourne.
Training with Sergev Segeltov
Many bodybuilding fans were dropping by
at this gym for the whole week I was there. Many had brought
their cameras to take photos with the athletes. The walls
of that gym were covered with posters and photos of great
athletes from everywhere in the world.
It was a real pleasure to be part of
this cool crew of high level athletes. If you happen to
come by this gym you’ll be able to see pictures of
me on the wall.
I was very pleased to meet them again for a meeting, the
kind of meeting where we chat and share everything. The rivalry
is very friendly and this is so cool. HerE’s what I
said during this meeting: “It’s an honor and an
immense privilege for me to be part of this community and
to be seating next to great names that you usually see only
in magazines.”
After New Zealand, we met the president of the IFBB,
South Pacific Division, Me Philip Hope, who has congratulated
me on my posing and who wished for such a big event to be organized
in Tahiti, after the New Zealand edition, next year. This would
give Polynesia a chance to discover that kind of event. We’ll
call it GRAND PRIX IFBB PRO EVENT IN TAHITI, which will be held
after New Zealand.
So, let’s meet again next year at the Tahiti Grand
Prix in March to see the world’s best bodybuilders.
I heard that Ronnie Coleman was going to compete again next
year and, by coincidence, at the Australian Grand Prix! So
we’ll most certainly have the chance to see him on our
island in great shape!
